MY STORY

Hello and welcome! My name is Dr. Melissa Jackson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked in the field of behavioral health for over 21 years. Throughout my many years within the field, I have found that I have just as much passion and enthusiasm for helping individuals within counseling sessions, helping associate counselors gain experience and receive guidance while obtaining their hours for licensure, and helping organizations strengthen their services provided.

Counseling Experience

I have always had my foot in the door with regard to counseling services. Whether that be providing counseling services myself or supporting those who are providing the counseling services through supervision and leadership positions. I found after having a break from counseling for the past 5 years, a desire to begin working with individuals again. I missed the opportunity to get to know others and their stories. I missed being able to work with individuals on overcoming challenges, strengthening skills, and achieving goals. So I stepped back into private practice and have enjoyed every opportunity I have had to interact with clients. 

Organizations

I found over the past 10 years a desire to help organizations strengthen their foundation, continuing to build upon their skills, and in turn, provide the best services possible to clients and populations served. This, aligned with my natural ability to provide organization and structure to either already established processes or start-up processes, has proven successful. ​Through working in the field of behavioral health I have found that many of those on the front lines can benefit from understanding the larger picture of the organization. An integral component of survival in the field of behavioral health is being able to sustain financially through the most challenging of times with revenue generated, exceeding overall expenses. ​

My hope in contracting with any individual or organization is to help attain the level of professionalism, skills, accountability, and financial success to become an elite provider in the community. In the end, it is about the quality services we provide, to those who are in most need, while keeping the doors open. 

Supervision

In January of 2024, I graduated from Grand Canyon University with my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. To say that I love being able to provide supervision to those working on gaining experience and completing their hours for independent licensure is putting it mildly.  Between over 14 years of experience in providing clinical supervision and over 21 years of experience in counseling, I believe I can provide most with a wonderful supervision experience. 

Personal

I have been a native of Arizona for the past 10 years after escaping the cold winters of WI, where I had lived my whole life. I currently reside on the west side of the valley with my husband and furbabies. We enjoy spending time with my family and traveling.
